Dollarama has proposed the class-action settlement in the lawsuit over products subject to Environmental fees. The purchasers of such products Dollarama are eligible to claim the settlement money from the settlement fund of $ 2.5 million

Dollarama Settlement Claim Form

The lawsuit was filed on Dollarama in May 2023 over the price charged and advertised by the company for products subjected to Environmental Handling Fees (EHFs) sold in Canada. The products include batteries, light bulbs, electronic gadgets or products, or toys powered by batteries.

The plaintiff claimed that Dollarama did not include such EHF fees in the advertised prices, which led to the total being higher than what was displayed.

The company denies such claims and does not accept such wrongdoings in court and they have proposed for the national settlement in the class-action lawsuit.

The eligible claimants can claim the settlement under the proposed $2.5 million settlement fund through the Dollarama Settlement claim form which will be issued after the settlement approval. The claimants will receive a gift card worth $15 under the settlement.

Before any compensation proceeding, the court will have the final hearing on the approval of the settlement on April 9, 2024. The court hearing will be held at 9:30 AM in room 2.08 of the Montreal Courthouse or any other room designated by the Judge’s sitting room.

If you wish to object and withdraw from the Dollarama settlement, then you must withdraw or object before 5 April 2024.
