  • To provide high-quality education in Power Engineering to prepare the graduates for a rewarding career in Power Engineering and related industries, in tune with evolving needs of the industry.
  • To prepare the students to become thinking professionals and good citizens who would apply their knowledge critically and innovatively to solve professional and social problems
Overview

The Department of Power Engineering works closely with the power plants to give its students a combination of real world exposure with sound academic grounding. Courses offered train students in thermal , hydel, nuclear and non conventional energy based power plants by using power plant visits and experimental test rigs. Power plant operation, maintenance, cost analysis and switch yard operations are taught through plant visits and offline modules. Instrumentation and energy management & audit concepts are imparted through project work. The annual intake of this Department is 60 students.
